Position Description:

Part time position - approximately 18-20 hours; TBD (when bell schedules are finalized)

The Accompanist will provide support to the instructional program with specific responsibilities for providing accompaniment for classroom instruction, rehearsals and performances; assisting with classroom clerical tasks.

Qualifications

Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education; or Obtained an associate's degree or higher; or Met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate through a formal state or local academic assessment the knowledge of and ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing, and mathematics or the instruction in readiness for these subjects

Must be able to perform the functions of piano playing and the reading of music.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to hear mistakes in music performances.
Ability to communicate fluently verbally and in writing in English.

Responsibilities:

Analyze assigned music prior to rehearsal and performances.
Ensure efficient use of rehearsal time and performance schedules.
Assist the teacher in supervising student activities for the purpose of ensuring efficient use of class time.
Maintain a positive learning environment.
Exhibit professional stage etiquette for the purpose of serving as a model of professionalism at musical productions.
Learn and practice music for performances.
Maintains regular attendance in order to preserve continuity.

Length of Contract: Student calendar for the 23-24 school year

Salary Range: $15.67 - $20.91 per hour
