Job Title: Accompanist
Marshfield High School
Position Description:
Part time position, 17.5 hours per week (3 class periods each day)
The Accompanist will provide support to the instructional program with specific responsibilities for providing accompaniment for rehearsals and performances; assisting with classroom clerical tasks and serving as an instructional resource for students and teachers in the area of fine arts.
Qualifications
- · Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education; or
- · Obtained an associate's degree or higher; or
- · Met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate through a formal state or local academic assessment the knowledge of and ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing, and mathematics or the instruction in readiness for these subjects
- · Must be able to perform the functions of piano playing and the reading of music.
- · Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- · Ability to hear mistakes in music performances.
- · Ability to communicate fluently verbally and in writing in English.
Responsibilities:
- · Analyze assigned music prior to rehearsal and performances.
- · Ensure efficient use of rehearsal time and performance schedules.
- · Assist the teacher in supervising student activities for the purpose of ensuring efficient use of class time.
- · Maintain a positive learning environment.
- · Exhibit professional stage etiquette for the purpose of serving as a model of professionalism at musical productions.
- · Learn and practice music for performances.
- · Maintains regular attendance in order to preserve continuity.
Length of Contract: school year
Starting Date: As soon as hiring process is complete
Salary Range: $14.30 - $19.24 per hour
