JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Job Title:   Accompanist

      Marshfield High School and Marshfield Junior High School 

Position Description:

Part time position - approximately  18-20 hours; TBD (when bell schedules are finalized)

The Accompanist will provide support to the instructional program with specific responsibilities for providing accompaniment for classroom instruction, rehearsals and performances; assisting with classroom clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education; or Obtained an associate's degree or higher; or Met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate through a formal state or local academic assessment the knowledge of and ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing, and mathematics or the instruction in readiness for these subjects

• Must be able to perform the functions of piano playing and the reading of music.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to hear mistakes in music performances.
• Ability to communicate fluently verbally and in writing in English.

Responsibilities:

•  Analyze assigned music prior to rehearsal and performances.
•  Ensure efficient use of rehearsal time and performance schedules.
•  Assist the teacher in supervising student activities for the purpose of ensuring efficient use of class time.
•  Maintain a positive learning environment.
•  Exhibit professional stage etiquette for the purpose of serving as a model of professionalism at musical productions.
•  Learn and practice music for performances.
•  Maintains regular attendance in order to preserve continuity.

Length of Contract:             Student calendar for the 23-24 school year

Salary Range:                        $15.67 - $20.91 per hour
