Job Title:   School Psychologist

 

 

Position Description:

Full-time position, 1.0 FTE      This position begins in August for the 2022-2023

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Master’s Degree in School Psychology or related field.

2. Oregon School Psychologist license.

3. Ability to work as a team member.

4. Holds a valid first aid card, preferred

 

REPORTS TO: Special Education Director

 

JOB GOAL: To work as a team member in the screening and assessment of students referred to Consultation Services.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Continues professional growth through the upgrading of skills and knowledge.


2. Communicates effectively, positively, and in a timely manner with school personnel, the public, and parents.


3. Acts in a discreet and professional manner when discussing students and/or school problems.


4. Keeps confidentiality of student records, identifiable information and educational activities.


5. Writes and follows personal performance goals in accordance with Teachers Standards and Practices Commission’s       Professional Development Plan.


6. Maintains appropriate teacher-student relationships as outlined in the “Ethical Educator” (TSPC Division 20)


7. Follows duties and responsibilities as set forth by the district’s Job Description.


8. Collaborates effectively with students, parent, the public, teachers, administration, and other staff.

 

9. Assesses psycho education skills of Coos Bay School District students’ ages 0-21 using appropriate assessment instruments and methods and makes use of alternative assessments when needed.


10. Completes evaluations and reevaluations in a timely manner to provide input to the IEP team to make the determination for special education services.


11. Effectively communicates results of evaluations to the IEP team, orally and in writing using the district report format.


12. Attends student study team pre-referral meeting as appropriate.


13. Recommends appropriate pre-intervention strategies for students before referrals for special education evaluations.


14. Recommends attainable student goals and objectives that promote student academic success.


15. Uses a variety of instructional strategies, techniques, and materials necessary to instruct students in unique ways.


16. Completes all Medicaid billing logs and student rosters and turns them into the district office in a timely manner.


17. Maintains regular attendance in order to preserve continuity.

 

18. Performs other duties as assigned by Principal and/or Supervisor.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be in accordance with the current schedule
